It's MayNoWriMo Time!!!

The past few months have been a whirlwind. The end of every semester is busy, but this one was particularly crazy since I was teaching more than ever before. I did manage to get some things accomplished (like my monthly reading goal), but I’m SO grateful for May because that means vacation and fun writing events...like a visit from my dear friend Debbi Michiko Florence!

There's nothing like spending time with a fellow writer and chatting about our goals to motivate me. And the timing was perfect because now that the semester is over, it's THAT time again!

For the third year in a row, I’m doing my “MayNoWriMo” with the goal of writing a first draft of a novel in a month. This year I’m writing a new YA contemporary romance that is a retelling of Persuasion. I’m SUPER excited about it, though it’s always daunting to start a new novel. Particularly when I’m trying to write a draft in a month!

Below are my calendar pages for March and April...lots of reading and querying but not as much writing. That's about to change! As in the past, I’ll post every week with an update on how I’m doing.

Here’s to good weather (finally!) and lots of reading and writing!

The best thing about my calendar is finding new stickers for it. Look, fairy and unicorn stickers!
